FLORIDA BALLOT INITIATIVE

Text Box: Frequently Asked Questions & Answers Page
1.	Will they institute a income tax?
IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN IN FLORIDA:
To institute an income tax in Florida: It would take a two thirds vote by the Florida Legislature just to put a Constitutional Amendment on the Ballot and then the amendment would have to receive 66 percent approval of voters and I’m not voting for it.
Why Eliminate the property tax?
Why not, any so called fix of the inequitable property tax system will only be temporary in nature.
Property taxes will rear their ugly head again and these taxes are sending businesses and jobs right out of this state.
We can’t take it anymore! Why should we fight property taxes the rest of our lives.
We need the economic stimulus as the Federal reserve can’t lower interest rates enough because of the falling dollar.
We now have thousands of jobless middle class workers in the building industry that would benefit immediately.
Low income housing is being lost all over the state because landlords can’t pay the tax.
There is a better fair tax system that will spread any increases out over hundreds of current taxes so no tax will be high.
We don’t pay anything at all just a few hundred bucks; why should we vote for this.
You will be able to sell your house and move without the worry of be tax increases.
The real estate market will improve so it will help you move.
All taxes will go up because local government will continue to raise the millage rates when property values fall.
Thousands will be saved from foreclosure when their payments drop dramatically and consumers will have more money.
I can’t download and print the petitions.
Go to the library they have printers and computers.
Wait longer it can take up to 5 minutes or try back later
Use the computer at work?
Set your printer to shrink to fit or scale to fit the paper.
The petition must not be cut off at the bottom or they are no good.
Why should I donate with my petition I paying to deliver it to you?
Each petition must be scanned into a computer and the name typed in to be checked for doubles and then they have to be verified by the local elections office that charges a fee to verify. All these things cost money because, it takes a full time staff to accomplish this task and we have to advertise to get signatures, on top of all that we are in a rush and need funds now!
We are a true grassroots group and aren’t independently wealthy without funding we would have to quit now.
We are working for you and as a citizens initiative we have got to stand up to all the special interest groups.
We just can’t depend on anything from our elected official except more infighting which is getting us no relief.
